"She’s the Cheese!" Grant
Guidelines for Application
We sincerely welcome you to apply, and want to keep the guidelines as simple as possible. Here they are:
1. Obviously all the information you provide in the application must be true — and verifiable.
2. You must be a woman 18 or over to win.
3. When you apply, you are also becoming a member of “She’s the Cheese!” and signing up for the newsletter. Of course you can cancel any time you like.
4. We may contact applicants by phone or email to verify application details or to request additional information. We cannot be held liable if we are unable to reach the intended recipient for verification prior to the closing of the grant period.
5. We plan to offer a grant once every two months, but we retain the right to offer them as frequently as we like, for any amounts and purposes we like, and post any changes on the website. We are free to make any changes to dates or amounts at our sole discretion.
6. If you want your application to be considered again, you will need to reaffirm that the information previously sent is still accurate, for each grant period you wish to be considered.
7. We retain the right to use the name, story, and image of grant recipients on our website and in any other communications with the public. If you need privacy because of potential abuse, you need to let us know when you submit your application.
8. We will not be sharing any of your application information with anyone who does not own or work for this business, whether as an employee or as a contracted service.
9. Grant periods end at 12 midnight Pacific on the last day of the posted application period. Applications that arrive after this time will be automatically entered in the next grant competition.
10. Applications are evaluated based on potential success of the idea, specific action plan demonstrating thought, actions already taken to pursue the plan, and what the grant money will be used for. Perfect writing is not important. Clear thinking, enthusiasm, and actions already taken matter most.
11. All decisions made by the “She’s the Cheese!” selection panel are final.
12. Grant recipients will be notified within 30 days following the close of the application period. We can’t keep applicants updated on the progress of their application, so the confirmation of your application will be the only communication you receive regarding your grant before the new recipient is announced — unless we choose to contact you to verify some aspect of your application.
13. In most cases, the grant will be awarded through the purchase of the items indicated in the grant proposal, rather than in cash. This is to assure that the money does not get “lost” in normal expenses and goes to further the recipient’s business.
